About Cybersecurity Education

The multidisciplinary approach to education in Information Security at Virginia Tech includes both technical and non-technical courses of study. Students may concentrate in information assurance-related studies while pursuing degrees in computer science, electrical or computer engineering, mathematics, finance, accounting and information systems, or business information technology. By design, each of these degree programs requires demonstrated breadth of study. Ethics, policy and legal issues and other non-technical topics are addressed in multiple courses, enabling technical and non-technical students alike to gain an understanding of complex nature of information assurance.
